FW: 2007 CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE - 96 POINTS ROBERT PARKER - ONLY £295.00

I offered Stéphane Vedeau’s Châteauneuf-du-Pape ‘Côtes Capelan’ 2007 earlier in the year and it was very well received because of its great note from Jancis Robinson (19/20 points) and fair price. I have just been given the opportunity to buy a second tranche of the same wine, which has since achieved an impressive score of 96 points from Robert Parker, and which I am pleased to offer at an extremely reasonable £295.00 In Bond per case of 12 bottles.

Robert Parker recently published his notes on the 2007 Southern Rhône wines and wrote the following:

“Tasting the 2007s out of bottle has confirmed my thoughts – this is a truly historic and profoundly great vintage. As the following tasting notes and commentary suggest, this may be the most compelling vintage of any viticultural region I have ever tasted.” Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

I tasted this delicious Châteauneuf back in the summer and it is superb. It will reward cellaring for at least 2-3 years and then last a couple of decades beyond that. The Rhône Valley clearly provides incredible value for money when you compare this wine in terms of price to one of equivalent class, quality and Parker rating in Bordeaux, for example.

Please find below the offer and feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions. Stocks are limited so do please let me know as soon as you can if the offer is of interest.

With kind regards,

Stuart

Châteauneuf du Pape ‘Côtes Capelan’ 2007, La Ferme du Mont, Stéphane Vedeau
£295.00 In Bond per case of 12 bottles

“The dense ruby/purple-colored, full-bodied 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape La Ferme du Mont is an outrageously rich, complex wine exhibiting beautiful crème de cassis, kirsch, licorice, forest floor, and spring flower-like aromas. It is fresh, voluptuous, and opulent in the mouth, but the fresh acids and vibrancy give it exceptional precision as well as a refreshing style despite its weight, richness, and length. This is a superb, young Chateauneuf du Pape from an up-and-coming star of the appellation. Give it 1-3 years of bottle age and drink it over the following two decades.”

"Grenache Noir 80%, Syrah 10%, Mourvèdre 10%. No oak! Another very successful wine from this newcomer from the Côtes Capelan. Very dense and rich and commanding. Majestic wine! A hint of medicinal qualities, but not aggressively so. Great beginning, middle and end. Really very interesting indeed. Smooth and subtle - though needs a bit of time. Drink 2012-22."
